My name’s Jack and I’m a friendly drum tutor based around Haringey, London, offering personalised one-to-one home visit drum tuition. I visit your house (no travel required) with a comprehensive selection of resources, including a monitoring system, laptop and books/DVDs. I am fully CRB/DSB checked.

I am not a drum school. I offer personalised one-to-one tuition to suit you. My students range from 7 to 70 (!) all with their own goals and ambitions – whether it’s aspiring to be a session drummer or simply wanting to play along with backing tracks at home I tailor the lessons for you.

I also play piano and guitar so my lessons always have a practical and “real life” application. This helps me teach students who are in bands/groups or want questions answering in the wider subject area. I also “jam” with students to try out beats and help with timing!

For students interested in exams, I teach through the Trinity & Rockschool syllabus, which gives you the opportunity to achieve a grade 8 level. However no student is pressured to take exams and many can progress more positively without.

Session plans range widely and include – beat building, rudiments/technical exercises, to click/metronome work, independence, composition, ear/aural training, soloing, time signature exploration, modulations, synchronicity, and much more – we’re just scratching the surface here! We’ll even look at how to build your own drum beats.

I also coach students through live performances, auditions and tour preparation and help with personal statements and references. In addition I offer a service for students who are struggling setting up their kit properly or want tuning tuition.
