Hi! I'm Tim, a drummer who performs and teaches in and around Maidstone. I've loved playing drums since I was 15, and have been teaching since 2011. Playing with other musicians is something I have always enjoyed, whether in bands, orchestras or just jamming with one of my mates, music is definitely best when you're playing it live! I currently play with a local alternative band, Burn Marilyn, and have been in several different bands over the past decade.

I have been teaching since 2011 both privately and in schools, working with age ranges from 5 years to 45 years old. I love working with beginners and seeing them start to grasp the basics and get excited about making their first steps on their drumming progression. Equally I enjoy working with advanced students, honening technique, developing finesse and tackling difficult pieces and rudiments.

My number one aim is to have fun and provide enjoyable lessons, leaving the student wanting more and feeling excited about practising the lesson material at home. I will always make sure I work with the students goals to make their lessons engaging and relevant, however I do like to introduce new ideas that will broaden horizons and stretch ability when necessary.
Drums is an instrument that is best enjoyed when accompanying other instruments, so I will often use backing tracks in the lessons to give the material we learn more musical context.
