About John Warrington

I have been playing the drums since I was 14 back in 1972, so I grew up with the Keith Moons and the John Bonhams. What really kickstarted my drumming was my first listen to Billy Cobham. My main influence is Simon Phillips. I have played in all sorts of bands over the years Back then it was mainly original material stuff. Then I had a stint with some tribute bands, doing Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, Bryan Adams. I often get called on for studio work. I am currently playing in a few bands, my main band is The

Maxxx playing pop and soul, some original jazzy stuff with my friend Ant and some original prog rock stuff with my friend Dave.

So I like to keep a hand in with all sorts of different genres. I have been teaching for over 10 years now and took it up professionally 4 years ago.

I like to tailor the lessons to each individuals needs and if you want to take grades you can. I don't force the grading system on you.

If you do want some gradings under your belt, I use the Rock school grading system which tends to let the student pick the songs that they like in a particular genre.

I hope to appeal to everyones taste as I do like all sorts of different music. So when you are ready give me a call.
