My name is John Savage and I teach all styles of drumming at my soundproof studio at my home in King’s Lynn, Norfolk. I also teach drums and guitar at a local grammar school. I have been teaching for forty two years and have written the eight tuition books in the Art of the Drummer series. I also teach tuned percussion and most styles of guitar.

Many of my pupils enter Rockschool or Trinity College exams and the pass rate has been 100% for some years. Many students have passed Rockschool grade 8 on drums as well as others on guitar and bass. I have some students who play in local groups, and bands. Two of my past students now teach at Drumtech in London.

Lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes duration, either weekly or fortnightly. The Minimum age is 9 and I suggest anyone wishing to book lessons try one session first to see if they enjoy themselves. I try to make learning fun and my job is to help students through any technical or musical difficulties.
