Since graduating in 2009 from Salford University with an upper 2:1 degree in Popular Music and Recording Laurie has been working as a professional musician and teacher.

He is experienced in a variety of styles – ranging from Rock/Indie, Pop, Funk, Dance, RnB, Hip Hop and Jazz/Fusion. He regularly performs with Manchester based band ‘The Volantes’ (Hard Rock Cafe battles of the band winners 2011) ,  Derbyshire’s popular party/function band ‘Purple Cloud of Funk’ as well as Coronation Street /Doctor Who star Bruno Langley in his Jazz ensemble.

He has worked abroad in Ghana (Africa) and Sapporo (Japan) and is developing a rewarding working relationship with musicians/artists from both countries.

He is managing director of ACE (Alternative Culture in Education) – a percussion workshop company who specialise in African percussion, Samba bands and Recycled Instrument workshops.
