I have performed and recorded in many different styles, from heavyweight prog-rock to traditional acoustic folk. And I’ve done lots (and lots) of gigs, ranging from headlining the main stage at the Edmonton Folk Festival in Canada (audience about 15,000) to the Bridgwater Arts Centre in Somerset (audience about 15). I spent 5 years as house drummer for a busy commercial studio in Cardiff, playing on soundtracks for TV drama, adverts and kid’s cartoons (including one that was nominated for an Oscar). I've done tours throughout the UK and Europe, as well as North America (13 times). Most of the gigs and recording sessions I've been doing over the last few years have been in the folk/roots world, including Baka Beyond, Daily Planet, Stackridge, the late great Jackie Leven, Jim Moray, and many more.
I have been teaching for over 20 years, including several as a peripatetic drum teacher in local schools. I took the Certificate of Teaching with the ABRSM in 2000, and have an ATCL in music education. In 2010 I completed a PhD from Sheffield University about instrumental teaching and learning, so I am now officially Dr Tim! Have a look at my website for more info.
