I have been playing drums now for over twenty years, and in that time have worked in many professional settings and musical genres. Having started playing at school, I worked through my Guildhall grades (for drum kit) studying with great tutors such as Kel Dennis, Ashley Wardell and later Roger Hempsall when I studied jazz and popular music at Newcastle music college. Upon graduating I played around Europe for a short while before moving London to play in jazz and rock outfits, as well as freelance work playing in studios, hotels and theatre. 
With a wealth of reading material I am now teaching drums in Ashtead and the surrounding area (as well as students in London). Gathering my vast experience I try to bring all aspects of playing into my lessons: chart reading, technique building, rudiment exercises and live play-a-long (with CDs), making lessons both fun and informative, all the time considering the instrument's natural performance environment.
