I started playing drums at the age of 12 at school with drum tutor Phil Aldridge. I then progressed with private tuition with Martin Clapson, who is also teaching with me at Drumbox Studios. After leaving school I played with various function and cabaret bands, backing Bobby Davro and Darren Day. I also played in a Neil Diamond tribute band.
After playing for over 16 years I then decided to improve on my technique and re-studied with Bob Armstrong, who’s teaching methods and philosophy opened my playing up to a different feel and level of playing.
Playing and teaching drums has always been my passion and in 2012 I established Drum Box a dedicated studio for teaching and recording Drums.
I still play myself and currently play with The Signatures, a 10 piece northern soul band, Indiana a five piece function band, along with various dep and session work, along with running Catman Boogie and Drum Box.
