UNDERAGE STUDENTS

• Please bear in mind a parent or guardian is must be present inside lesson room in order for the lesson to go ahead as I cannot offer parents or child minders a windowed sitting area outside the lesson room due to soundproofing.

PAYING FOR LESSONS

If you wish to sign up for lessons after your trial, you can either pay-per-lesson or buy a pack of lessons. 

• 1. PAY-PER-LESSON

Guarantee Deposit + Standard lesson fee

* The guaranty deposit is a singe payment equal to the value of one standard lesson and is held against any unpaid bookings, no-shows and late cancellation notices for the entire course of your learning period.

It can also be agreed as payment for your final lesson or refunded to you in full after all bookings have been settled and due notice has been received (please see cancellation notice period and fees).

• TRIAL LESSON

The focus of this lesson is to assess skill level and drumming goals with view to establish a learning pathway and define lesson plans for each topic. 

For complete beginners we'll be covering the introduction to the drum-kit, including:

- names, sound and role of each drum and cymbal

- operating with drum sticks and pedals

- basics of good posture and physical balance

- essential rhythms and breaks in popular music

- listening to drum sounds in recorded music and playing along to songs

- practice reference points, tips and methodology

PRACTICE DEAL * STUDENTS ONLY

• There is no other way to get good at the drums than regular practice on a real kit. 
• We are proud to offer our drum students a high class practice room to hire at a discounted rate. The deal includes a full drum-kit with cymbals for a flat fee of £15 per hour instead of £18.50 per hour for non-students.

TUTOR STRONGLY SUGGESTS:

• Alternating 1 hour lesson with 1 hour practice on a weekly basis. For example: lesson this week Monday 18h30, practice same time next week or similar. This is excluding any interim practice at home on the pad or your own electronic drums. If you have the chance to play acoustic drums at home then perhaps this does not apply to you. Either way, practicing little and often is the best way to get better at drumming. 

BOOKING CONFIRMATION

• All lessons and practice bookings must be paid in advance either via bank transfer or cash.
• Only once the full amount is received I can confirm your booking .
• If are paying-per-lesson in cash I will request the payment at the start of each lesson.

PRICE INCREASES

• Prices have to be updated from time to time to keep up with standard values for which the tutor will provide one month advance notice in writing.

CANCELLATION PERIOD, FEES AND REFUNDS

• Three week notice to cancel with a seven day grace period to reschedule at a short notice - pending on availability - or the full lesson fee will be charged.
• Deposit refunds will be made within one to two weeks from the day a final balance has been presented and agreed with the student.

ESSENTIALS

• Drum sticks NOVA 5A wood tip (not necessary for your trial lesson)
• Practice pad - RealFeel 12" or similar.
