My bespoke lessons are tailored to suit the student's needs, whether you are planning to take a grade examination, would like to improve your technique, are preparing for a gig/recording session or you simply want to learn for the pure enjoyment of playing the drum kit.

My lessons are relaxed and fun, but structured. They take place in an air conditioned studio. I am also available to travel to your house if you would like me to.

Each lesson varies based on your own particular requirements and can include:

• Sight reading
• Building grooves/fills
• Study of different styles/grooves
• Time keeping/metronome work
• Co-ordination and independence
• Musicality
• Transcriptions of your favourite songs to play along to
• Listening/aural exercises

A bit about me...
I am a professional musician with many years experience of performing live, recording and session work. I have taught a wide variety of students for over 17 years.

I have toured extensively across the world with the rock bands Future of the Left and Mclusky and recorded albums with many top engineers/producers including Steve Albini (Nirvana, Pixies), Charlie Francis (REM, High Llamas, Loz Williams (Manic Street Preachers) and Richard Jackson (The Automatic). I regularly undertake session work for artists in a variety of different styles in the South Wales area.

I have a Bmus in Jazz from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and have grade 8 qualifications in both drum kit and trumpet.

I also lead various workshops playing the ukulele, percussion and singing.

I am fully CRB/DBS checked.
