Alex started playing drums at the age of 5. Early in Alex’s playing career he played with both County and National Youth Jazz Orchestras and participated in a number of tours of the UK and Europe.

Having left school at 16, Alex worked as a free-lance session musician playing drums in Stage and Variety Show productions as well as function and tribute bands.

At 28 Alex started a large format function band (Groovin’ High) and performed all around the world for major corporate, private and royal clients.

After 25 years working within the Music Industry Alex felt it was time to spend more time at home and started teaching for Hertfordshire College of Music.
