OPEN TO ALL AGES & LEVELS

I am Tomás Pocinho, an experienced live and studio drummer available as a private tutor. My teaching experience ranges from groups of young beginners to privately teaching mature drummers who need to polish their playing.

BEGINNERS
I will teach you the basics of drumming in an approachable way to make it enjoyable from the start.

MATURE DRUMMERS
I can improve your technique, groove, feel, tone, articulation, dynamics, stage performance, listening, and reading. All this so you can become a better musician, not just a drummer. 

MY DRUMMING EXPERIENCE
I've been drumming for over 16 years and have now recorded and gigged with two bands of which I am the co-founder and co-songwritter. Our music fuses elements of grunge, funk, art-rock, reggae, trip-hop, and soul. I have gigged as a session drummer for pop, soul, afrobeat, latin, & rock bands. In November 2014 I took part in Everything Everything's "Chaos To Order" Residency.

MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching 1-on-1 lessons for 7 years. I also have 2 years experience running drum and percussion workshops with Brighter Sound.

WHERE
My studio is in Islington Mill, close to Manchester City Centre (postcode M3 5HW). Here you will learn to play on a real kit, not an electric one. I can also travel to you.
