Jam Jar Music offers drum lessons taught by Lauren Greaves to pupils of all ages from the purpose built “Jam Jar” in Derby. As well as one-to-one instrumental lessons there are many other things to get involved in from filming performance videos to taking part in sessions, clubs and band practices. The aim of Jam Jar Music is to provide pupils with real life musical skills and above all, a passion for music. The lessons are tailored to suit the needs, goals and learning styles of the individual pupils, whether that be to take graded exams, play in a band, write or simply to have fun.

I started drumming at the age of thirteen and haven't put the sticks down since! I completed my initial training by achieving a distinction for my grade eight drumming exam and then went on to study Popular and World Musics at the University of Leeds followed by a Master's Degree in Music Management at the University of Sheffield. I have a DBS check, am a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and have trained in SEN and EAL learning. As well as teaching drum lessons I am still a working drummer. I currently play in a number of bands ranging from ska punk to Bruce Springsteen tributes and have been lucky enough to play gigs and festivals all over the UK and beyond.
