Teaching Drums is a passion for me and has been a major part of my career for over 20 years. I am told I’m an inspirational and popular teacher – which is my aim. I currently teach Drums and Percussion for Cheadle Hulme School (a leading independent school in Manchester), Hartford High School, and teach private lessons from my studio at home in Hartford, Northwich, Cheshire.

I have a 100% pass rate with Trinity College London Graded Drums and Percussion exams, and have detailed knowledge and experience of all the current Grade and Performance Diploma exam syllabuses - both Drum kit and Snare Drum. Though I would add that my expectation of my students is much wider and more detailed than the 'Grade ladder'.

Many of my past students have secured places to study music at undergraduate level at the RNCM, Birmingham Conservatiore, Salford University, Huddersfield University, BIMM and more.

I am a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and have a first class degree in Music (Salford University 2002). I am fully DBS checked, insured, and up to date with child protection training.

Aside from teaching I am also a regularly performing musician. I am well known on the North West Jazz scene, having played at many local Jazz festivals with groups of various incarnation. I’ve also toured internationally prior to having children. Most of my performing work these days is with function bands, although I do relish a Jazz project when they arise. I have always felt that being a regular performer helps me to remain a good teacher.
