I am a creative, dedicated and passionate musician with a first-class honours degree in Music. Currently I am in demand as a session musician in London playing for signed artists and bands. I am proficient in my musicianship and have a desire to develop others in their knowledge and understanding of music. You will find me to be an enthusiastic, reliable, trustworthy and helpful teacher. 

From the age of 15-18 I began to teach drums, piano and guitar lessons privately. I then went onto further study in music and achieved a first-class honours degree and was awarded an additional prize for the 'Most Outstanding Recital of the Year'. Currently, I deliver pop and rock band workshops in primary schools and also teach private lessons on drums and piano/ keyboard. 

Using my skills, enthusiasm and creativity I teach drums and keyboard in a fun yet professional manner at all levels. I tailor each lesson specific to the pupils desire. I am able to prepare students for examinations through boards such as Rockschool, Trinity Guildhall, ABRSM on either the drums or piano. Additionally, I am happy to teach on a more casual basis for those who would like to learn an instrument as a hobby or simply for fun! After taking lessons with me it is my hope that students develop their skills, techniques, self-worth and confidence!

In addition to this, each of my students will receive their own personal login to a music practice app where I will be able to send them goal-orientated practice assignments and resources and they will be able to send me audio recordings of some of their work throughout the week to check they are making correct progress.

Tim is teaching our 9 yr old to play the drums and has been for the past few weeks.  George had not played since before Christmas due to his last teacher moving away.  Immediately after the first taster lesson, George was so inspired by Tim that he plays constantly.  Tim is really encouraging, his instruction is very clear and overall his manner is fun and kind.  Tim spends time teaching the notes and how to read music so practice is easy.  He also shares recordings so we can watch if we are stuck on any of the rifts.  Tim has instilled a love of music in our son.  The app's Tim uses are brilliant and our son is playing for hours every day.  We cannot recommend Tim highly enough - he's brilliant!

Tim provides a set of great services as a drum teacher for my son and piano teacher for my daughter. He clearly has lots of experience teaching both KS1 and KS2 children both in groups and as individuals. His knowledge of popular music is a massive plus when working with children who enjoy contemporary pop music and it really helps the children. He’s very amiable and provides plenty of encouragement to children when they are trying to master challenging pieces of music on their particular instruments. We also appreciate the in-home tuition that allows both children to learn at home at a time that is very convenient. All in all, Tim provides great value for money, a great opportunity for children to learn and useful advice to parents on how to help their children with their instruments.

Tim is my drum teacher. For someone who hasn’t had that many years of teaching experience, he’s certainly better than many of my teachers who have had many. He’s engaging, has a great teaching structure and always tries his very best to explain things as simple as possible. It helps a lot that Tim is a multi-instrumentalist. He’s able to bring in a band perspective and is able to play something else to accompany the drums when running through a full song. He’s very enthusiastic and makes learning a real joy.
